The List of Hobbies

  • Telescopes and Astronomy - This is a wonderful hobby where you can explore the mysteries of the universe and you can get started without a telescope. Binoculars work well or even the naked eye is a great way to start.
  • Classical Guitar - It takes a lot of practice to really get good at this hobby but it is well worth it. You can however learn a few beautiful pieces in no time at all.
  • Military Models -Models and miniatures are a lot of fun. And many people are very passionate about the sub-genre of military modeling. Just about every kind of military vehicle, plane and copter is available in model form. And not just the present ones but also the classics from periods of time like ww1, ww2 , vietnam and more.
  • Terrarium Making - You don't need an outdoor spot to grow a garden. You can make a miniature garden that is kept indoors. This is what a terrarium is - a micro ecology in a container.
  • Bonsai - Wonderful hobby that takes patience and time. You can buy trees already grown or you can grow your own from seed. You can actually start this hobby for no cost by gathering tree seeds or seedlings where you live.
  • Origami - amazing little hobby that is practically free. All you really need is some paper and some instructions!
  • Blacksmithing - This is a very rewarding hobby and I do this on a regular basis. The sky is the limit here. Do you want to make wrought iron stuff? Knives? Swords? It does take time and practice to get good. And it will cost you some money to get started but I consider it well worth it.
  • Mead Making - This is a little known variation of wine that is made from honey rather than grapes. It was the preferred beverage in the middle ages and I show you how to make it for very little cost and effort.
  • Model Rocketry - Terrifically fun hobby and usually done in summer. But I am so crazy about it that I have launched rockets in a snowstorm. You can usually get started with everything you need for around thirty dollars.
  • Cuckoo clocks - There are fe things that are as much fun as a cuckoo clock. Every half hour they will remind you of the time. It costs a few dollars to get started and I give you some tips on collecting, repair and maintenance.
